Death Note Episode Synopsis
Episode 01: Rebirth Raito (Light) Yagami is a smart and popular honors student attending his last year of high school. But Light is bored, he looks at the world and thinks it is rotten. One day, Light discovers a black notebook with the title 'Death Note' and english instructions inside claiming to kill whoever's name is written on its pages. Light is skeptical, but decides to try it on a whim. After killing two people, Light is convinced that the Death Note is for real. Corrupted by the power he now wields, Light decides to make the world a better place by cleansing it of criminals. His actions attract the attention of Ryuk, the Shinigami who 'dropped' the book in the human realm. 
 Episode 02: Confrontation Light's murdering of criminals with his Death Note has been noticed by the public. They name him Kira and some even praise him as a hero. But Light has also caught the attention of L, a mysterious man who has solved any case no matter how difficult. L has discerned that Kira likely lives in Japan and begins working with the Japanese police. In a TV broadcast directed at Kira, L challenges him and tempts Light to reveal himself.
